FANTASTIC NEWS! After nearly 10 years of sustained effort since the Wall Property was purchased by a developer, we are finally going to see the Wall Property preserved. Fairfax has agreed to purchase the land and has secured the majority of the funding. The remaining ~$200,000 is all we have to go! A fundraiser effort is being spearheaded by Fairfax Open Space. Please help in any way you can…now is the time to preserve this amazing part of Fairfax once and for all.

And, if you’re at the Fairfax Fest this weekend, come check this out! An update from Fairfax Open Space Committee:
On May 22nd, 2024, the Fairfax Town Council unanimously approved moving forward with the acquisition of the Wall Property. This is an acquisition that FOSC has been working towards since its inception in 2004, 20 years ago this year. So we have two great things to celebrate this year- our 20th anniversary and the potential acquisition of the “crown jewel of Fairfax” – the Wall Property. But we need your help to make this a reality.
How to help?
Join Fairfax Open Space in the Fairfax parade this Saturday, June 8th, starting at10 a.m. We will be assembling in the Good Earth/ Java Hut parking lot prior, so you can meet us there around 9:30 -9:45 a.m., or join us along the route and walk with us. Children encouraged (we have pin wheels). If you like, please bring signage encouraging people to donate to/ support the wall campaign. You can also dress normal or get crazy and dress “naturey” – interpretations encouraged. It should be fun!
Afterwards, we will have a booth on the baseball field, with all kinds of information about what’s happening and how to help, a raffle of one of plein air painter, Nathalie Worthington’s, paintings that she did on the recent Wall Property BioBlitz.
